Renewables Installer (Solar PV, ESSS, EV)

Job Summary

We are hiring a skilled Renewables Installer to carry out the installation and commissioning of solar panels, battery storage systems, and EV charging points. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background, relevant industry certifications, and a passion for sustainable technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Install rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems.
• Fit and configure battery storage units (e.g. Tesla, GivEnergy, SolarEdge).
• Install and commission residential and commercial EV chargers.
• Perform electrical wiring (AC & DC), testing, and fault finding.
• Complete site assessments and prepare for installations.
• Ensure compliance with BS 7671, MCS, health & safety regulations, and manufacturer standards.
• Conduct inspection and testing on completed installations.

Essential Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
• 2391-52 Inspection & Testing Certification (or equivalent).
• City & Guilds 2399 or LCL Solar PV Installation Certificate.
• Battery Storage Installation Certification (e.g. NICEIC, LCL).
• Full UK Driving Licence (required).

Desirable Qualifications

• City & Guilds 2921-31 (EV Charger Installation) or equivalent.
• Experience with OZEV-compliant EV installations.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in solar, battery, or EV installations.
• Good working knowledge of electrical systems (single- and three-phase).
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work safely at height and in outdoor environments.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
